VERGER (full time) vacancy in London and Home Counties

35 hours/5days per week on a rota system

12 month contract (with possibility of extension)

7.5% pension contribution by St James’s with .5 contribution

by the employee; 25 days annual leave plus public holidays

The successful applicant will need to have good communication and practical skills. They will be open, energetic, willing to learn, have a strong ability to work as part of a team and in sympathy with the church’s aims and ethos – refer to website


Previous Verger experience, technical skills with sound systems and live streaming advantageous but not essential.


Main responsibilities: To service events taking place at St James’s and

keep the church and site clean, tidy, safe, secure and welcoming for all users.
